Stella Mae McGill, 92, of Malden, Mo., died Friday, July 23, 2004, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation in Malden.
Born January 22, 1912, in Matthews, Mo. she was the daughter of the late Joseph Harrison Kem and Elmary Robinson Kem Smoot. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Malden.
On October 5, 1929, she married Arthur (Tobe) McGill, who preceded her in death on October 26, 1987.
Survivors include one son, Carl McGill and wife Anita, of Malden, Mo.; three daughters, Patsy Johnson and husband Jerry, Wanda Johnson and husband Charles, all of Malden, and Murle Hinze and husband Don, of Mattawan, Mich.; two brothers, Earl Kem and Howard Smoot, both of Blythe, Calif.; three sisters, Freda Hagopian, of Fresno, Calif., Della West, of Benton, Ky., and Anita Beran, of DeSoto, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, Sonja Hald, of Long Island, N.Y., Susie Hays and Penny Blalock, both of Malden, Dennis Austill, of Calif., Sherry Johnson, of Sikeston, Mo., Jim Johnson, of Friendswood, Texas, Jim Hinze, of Mattawan, Mich., Brenda McGill, of Ventura, Calif., Tammy Mooney, of Walton, Ind., Kim Harralston, of Thayer, Mo., and David Hinze, of Logansport, Ind.;; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one infant son, Donnie Joe McGill; one daughter, Peggy Ann McGill; five sisters; one brother; and her step-father.
Funeral services were held on Monday, July 26, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden, officiated by Rev. David Wigger, Rev. Richard Blagg, and the Rev. Mike Davis.
Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden.
