Samuel Luther Knotts, 92, of Campbell, Mo., died Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at his residence.
Born March 1, 1912, in Monticello, Ark., son of the late Hiram Osie and Lena Reeves Knotts, he was a farmer and a member of the Mt. Gilead General Baptist Church.
On Oct. 13, 1939, in Campbell, he married Lillian Irene Sullivan, who survives.
Survivors also include two sons, Larry Knotts and wife, Reba, of Smithland, Ky., and Richard Knotts and wife, Sally, of Festus, Mo.; one daughter, Brenda Cumins, of Campbell, Mo.; one sister, Melba Kimbrough, of Roseville, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one step-son, James Leon Shepard; one granddaughter, Tracey Lynn Knotts; five brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, July 22, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 23, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell with the Rev. Vernon Cunningham officiating.
Burial will follow at the Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Clarkton, Mo.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
