Nettie Lou Northern, 56, of Malden, Mo., died Saturday, July 17, 2004, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Mo.

Born Feb. 6, 1948, in England, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Leon and Orbra Faye Tilley Burden.

In March of 1967, in Phoenix, Ariz., she married Yule Northern, Sr., who preceded her in death on June 18, 2000. She was also preceded in death by one son, Tommy Lee Federico and two sisters, Elizabeth Burden and Betty Vanlet.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Ann Brookshire, of Radcliff, Ky.; two step-daughters, Hazel Henson, of Manchester, Ky. and Kathleen Smith, of Kansas City, Kan.; three sons, Yule Northern, Jr. and Joshua Northern, both of Malden and Jerry Tilley, of Phoenix; four step-sons, Willard Northern, of Frankfort, Ky. and Chris, Junior and John Northern, all of Manchester; two sisters, Janie Kneffler, of Riverside, Calif. and Linda Lopez, of Olton, Texas; two brothers, James Knight and William Acord, both of Malden; 33 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, at the Rosewood Cemetery in Malden.

Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of arrangements.
