Laura Wilbanks

Laura Belle Wilbanks, 87, died Friday, July 9, 2004.

Born Aug. 9, 1916, in Deering, Mo., she was the daughter of the late John and Florence Jackson Alsup.

On Jan. 4, 1936, she married Norman E. (Babe) Wilbanks, who preceded her in death on March of 1999. She was also preceded in death by one son; three sisters, Geraldine Phillips, Tubie Lowery and Jewel Stephens.

Survivors include two children, Richard John Wilbanks, of Duncanville, Texas and Norma Kay Ratliff Lancaster, of Odessa, Fla.; one brother, James Wylie Alsup, of Caruthersville; three grandchildren, Richard Scott Wilbanks, of Arlington, Texas, Christi Lynn Davidson, of Waxahachie, Texas and Stacey Larie Stegura, of Lutz, Fla. and five great-grandchildren, Courtney and Brice Wilbanks, of Arlington, Nicholas Stegura, of Lutz and William Patrick and Connor Christian Davidson, both of Waxahachie.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 11, at the John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti, Mo. with Dr. Mike Melton officiating.

Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.

Pallbearers were Brian, Brandon and Bobby Irions, Kent Reynolds, Dub Pate and Scott Wilbanks.
