James Collins

James Collins, 69, of Bragg City, Mo., died Friday, July 9, 2004, at his residence.

Born Feb. 28, 1935, at Clinton, Ark., a son of the late Jesse and Edith Williams Collins, he served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed at McCaul Tire and Appliance in Kennett, and was a member of the Nazarene Church in Wardell, Mo.

On May 1, 1954, at Corinth, Miss., he married Earline Patton, who survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Jesse Allen Collins and wife , Carla, of Campbell, Mo. and George Pal Collins and wife, Debbie, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., two daughters, Sandy Holdren and husband, Mike, of Bragg City and Mary Carnell and husband, Phillip, of Kennett; one brother, Dewey Collins of Kennett; two sisters, Nina Foster and Rosa Lee McKuin, both of Bernie, Mo.; 12 grandchildren, Amy Scott and Robert Collins of Tennessee, Matt Holdren, Chris Collins, Michelle Owens, Aaron Carnell, and Amanda Carnell, all of Kennett; Sarah Holdren of Hayti, Mo., Jessica Collins of Campbell, and Josh and Rachel Holdren of Bragg City; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Melody Ann Evans; one brother, Richard Eugene Collins; and three great-grandchildren, Riley and Bailee Collins and Christina Holdren.

Funeral services are 4 p.m. today, Sunday, July 11, at McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Kennett with the Rev Kenneth Carnell officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.

Pallbearers are Dickey McKuin, Wayne McKuin, Tony Caraway, Larry Holt, Jimmy Walker and Terry Walker.
