Helen A. Stoner, 76, of Kennett, Mo., died Thursday, July 8, 2004, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born February 8, 1928, at Kennett, she was a daughter of the late John W. and Ersie A. James Holmes.

On June 19, 1954, she married Morris M. Stoner who preceded her in death July 10, 1968.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Mike "Burley" Holmes, Cecil W. Holmes and Ballard Holmes.

Survivors include on son, Frank Stoner and wife, Donna, of Columbia, Mo.; one step-son, Morris A. Stoner, of Arcadia, California; one brother, Bill Holmes of Kennett; two sisters, Mable Holmes of Kennett and Thelma Whitehurst of Acton, Tenn.; two nieces, Diane Davis of Fenton, Mo. and Patricia Dixon of Columbia; close friends, Mickey and Ricky Caldwell of St. Louis, Mo., and Ann and Marvin Volkman and their daughter, Marsha, of Belleville, Illinois.

Visitation was 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, July 10, at McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Kennett.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. today, Sunday, July 11, at McDaniel Chapel with Dwight Harrison officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett.

Pallbearers are Tommy Samples, Robert Powell, Mickey Caldwell, Ray Whitehurst, Ricky Caldwell and Patrick Davis.

Honorary pallbearer is Garland Whitehurst.
