Born August 14, 1944, at Gideon, Mo., a son of Wiley and Naomi Martin Gilkey, he was a carpenter and electrician. His religion was Protestant.
Survivors include one daughter, Tammy Kiestler and husband, Allan, of Ripley, Tenn.; three step-daughters, Jamie Cronan of Olive Branch, Miss., Jennifer Wells of Mich. and Sandy Wells of Mich.; two brothers, Leon Gilkey of Gideon and Bill Gilkey of Buda, Texas; four sisters, Reba Crane of Chancellor, Ala., Wanda Terry of Clarkton, Mo., Lavada Oswald of Zwolle, La. and Dorothy Hankins of Orland Park, Ill.; one granddaughter, Celeste Kiestler of Ripley; five step-grandchildren, Christina, Russell, David, Kara and Brandson.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Ruby Wiles and three brothers, Joe Dean and Thurman Gilkey.
Visitation will be noon until 1 p.m. at the time of service Monday, July 5, At Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden, with the Rev. Richard Blagg officiating.
Burial will be in Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton.
