Reggie Green, 85, of Braggadocio, Mo., died Saturday, June 26, 2004, at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis, Tenn.
Born Feb. 22, 1919, in Braggadocio, son of the late Reggie and Leda Grinstead Green, he was a U.S. veteran of WWII and a member of the Braggadocio Baptist Church. He was a farmer and was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
On March 11, 1939, in Blytheville, Ark., he married Mary Mildred Davenport, who preceded him in death on Jan. 10, 1968. On Jan. 17, 1970, in Caruthersville, Mo., he married Evelyn Warren, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one daughter, Evalyn Gilmore and husband, Russell, of Braggadocio; two brothers, Russell Green, of Kennett and Henry Green, of California; three grandchildren, Kevin Gilmore, Rose Pierce and Martha Mobley and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Larry and one brother, Howard.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, at the Braggadocio Baptist Church with the Revs. Bill Luttrul and Mike Ault officiating.
Burial was in the Maple Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Max Wallace, Jr., Carl Avis, Noel W. Dudley, Dennis Hayes, Charles A. Farris and Charles A. Davis.
Honorary pallbearers were James Downing, Jerry Warren, Gary Downing and Max Bryant.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
