Clarence Dowdy, Jr., 74, of Minnith, Mo., formerly of Hornersville, Mo., died Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at his residence.
Born Feb. 18, 1930, in Hornersville, son of the late Clarence Sr. and Beulah Wilson Dowdy, he served in Korea. He was a member of Saline Lodge AF & AM No. 226, Shriners, VFW Post 2210 and American Legion Post 150.
On April 4, 1952, he married Blanche Lomax, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include three sons, Dennis Dowdy and wife, Gail, of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., John Dowdy and wife, Vicki, of Kansas City, Mo. and James Dowdy and wife, Darleen, of Perryville, Mo.; four daughters, Judy LaClere and husband, Jerry, of Saint Mary, Mo., Susan Abernathy and husband, Danny, of Brewer, Mo., and Cathy Coffman and husband, Joe and Sandy Boland and husband, Larry, all of Minnith; two sisters, Catherine Rauls and husband, Wink, of Jonesboro, Ark., and Audra Stotler, of Steelville, Mo.; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 25, at the Saline Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Berry officiating.
Burial was in the Minnith Cemetery.
Basler Funeral Home of Ste. Genevieve was in charge of arrangements.
