Mrs. Choe and her husband, the late Heung Sik Choe, moved their family from Chicago, Ill. to Kennett in 1987 and subsequently opened the Chung King Restaurant, specializing in authentic Chinese and Korean cuisine. Mrs. Choe assisted her husband with the operation of the restaurant until his death in 1997.
Mrs. Choe was an active member and deacon of the Gosnell Korean Baptist Church in Gosnell, Arkansas. In 2000, Mrs. Choe returned to South Korea as part of a Christian evangelistic team to help spread the gospel message of Jesus Christ in her native land.
Mrs. Choe was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Heung Sik Choe and her father, Mr. Young Su Choe. Mrs. Choe is survived by her mother, Mrs. Chang Yon Song and one brother, Jaesik Choe, both of whom live in South Korea, and by her two daughters, Lake Choe of Kennett and Isabella Choe of Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 29, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett from 7:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, June 30 at 2 p.m.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.
