Charles McClanahan, 84, of Steele, Mo., died Sunday, June 13, 2004, at his residence.
Born March 30, 1920, in Steele, son of the late Francie and Lula Pearson McClanahan, he was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the First Baptist Church in Steele. He was employed by the civil service.
He married Alma Mae Low, who preceded him in death on June 5, 1993. On June 11, 1994, in Steele, he married Mary McClanahan, who survives of the home.
Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Hicks and husband, George, of Memphis, Tenn. and Loretta Potts, of Kennett; one sister, Velda Williams, of Steele; five grandchildren, Kirk and Craig Hicks, Leigh Ann Snyder-Horton and Katie and Caleb Potts and two great-grandchildren, Zachary Robertson and Aidan Hicks.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Lillie Bray.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, at the Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Earl Dunavant officiating.
