Perlene Williams
Perlene Lizzie Williams, 80, of Malden, Mo., died Friday, June 11, 2004, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Mo.

Born Sept. 16, 1923, in Arkansas, daughter of the late Ollie and Viola Watkins, she was a retired nurse, a member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, an instructor for the Friendship District Ushers and she volunteered at the SEMO Baptist Youth Camp, Bootheel Youth Museum and the Malden Nutrition Center.

She married Edward Billingsley, who preceded her in death and later married Joe Williams, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include three children, Shirley Starker and husband, of Malden, Ollie Billingsley and wife, Carol, of Chicago, Ill. and Ada "Bonnie" Burton, of Medina, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchidlren and three special friends, Katherine Davis, Doris Jones and Estelle Rucker.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 15, at the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Malden with the Rev. L.L. Williams officiating.

Burial was in the Macedonia Cemetery at Malden.
