W.A. McAlister, 75, of Kennett, died Saturday, June 5, 2004, at National Health Care in Kennett.
Born July 26, 1928, in Ripley, Tenn., he was the son of the late Gus and Alvie Smith McAlister.
Survivors include one sister, Jewel White, of Kennett; one nephew, Jerry Wayne White, of Turlock, Calif.; one niece, Debbie White, of Sugar Land, Texas; two great-nephews, Douglas White, Jr. and Jerry White, Jr.; one great-niece, Tracy Goetsch; three great-great-nephews, Derik and Devon Goetsch and Bradley White; dear friends, Kay Keene and Lillie Ward, both of Kennett and Cheryl Conrad and her son, Jackson, both of Sugar Land and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Aunt Leola McBroom; one nephew, Douglas White and two sisters in infancy.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, at the Dry Hill Cemetery in Halls, Tenn. with the Rev. Dan Leggett officiating.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
