Eugene "Keg" Young, 84, of Steele, Mo., died Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at the Methodist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Born July 13, 1919, in Steele, son of the late James Ervin and Nancy Arin Thompson Young, he was a U.S. Army veteran and a machinist. He was a member of the Boon's Chapel Church of Christ in Steele.
On July 19, 1941, in Denton, Mo., he married Nell Young, who survives.
Survivors also include one son, Mickey Virlon Young, of Steele; two daughters, Marilyn Jean Henry, of Isola, Miss. and Marjorie Melton, of Hayti, Mo.; one brother, James Ralph "Pete" Young, of Steele; two sisters, Kieffer Rieber and Lucille Smith, both of Steele; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by five sisters, Delola Morton, Grace Watkins, Irma Zybasic, Wilma Young and Maxine Young.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 10, at the Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home in Steele.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 11, at the Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Billy Lovelace and Michael Morton officiating.
Burial will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele.
