Melvina L. Butler, 90, of Branson, Mo., and formerly of Malden, Mo., died Saturday, May 29, 2004, at Beverly Healthcare in Branson.
Born Sept. 27, 1913, at Malden, daughter of the late Harm and Lucy House Launius, she was of the General Baptist faith.
On April 20, 1939, at Piggott, Ark., she married James "Jim" Butler who preceded her in death May 30, 1976.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Dwight Butler; four brothers, Hershell, Edward, J.W. and Doyle Launius and one step-daughter, Hazel Gales.
Survivors include one daughter, Virginia Williams Hanner of Blue Eye, Mo.; one step-son, Odell Butler of Greenville, Mo., two sisters, Earlene Brown and Nadine McGee of Flint, Mich.; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 1, at Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel at Malden with the Rev. Mark Powell officiating.
Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.
