Virginia Imogene Sawyers, 74, of Kennett, died Sunday, May 30, 2004, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Born June 24, 1929, at Noble, Ark., she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Nellie Shelton Arnold.
On August 20, 1946, at Piggott, Ark., she married Hascall Sawyers who survives
Other survivors include eight sons, James Sawyers, Samuil Sawyers and Keith Sawyers, all of Kennett, Haskall Lee Sawyers of Germany, Larry Sawyers of Caruthersville, Mo., Roger Sawyers, Kenneth Sawyers and Earl Sawyers, all of Deering, Mo.; one daughter, Alice Malone of Deering; three sisters, Alice Lukeski of Kenniewick, Wash., June McGrey of Queen Creek, Ariz. and Barbara Kelly of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; two brothers, Jimmy Arnold of Porterville, Calif. and Ronnie Arnold of Richmond, Mo.; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by eight brothers, Carl, Buddy, Melvin, Bobby, Aubrey, Douglas, Bill and Loren Arnold.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti, Mo., with the Rev. Glenn Davis officiating.
Burial in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were Damon Bush, Mark Ward, Keith Ward, Tom Lebo, Mike Brooks and Ryan Sawyers.
Grandchildren served as honorary pallbearers.
