Mary Madgalene McConnell, 85, of Gideon, Mo., died Friday, May 28, 2004, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Born Dec. 8, 1918, at Risco, Mo., a daughter of the late Daniel Otis and Orpha Belle Jackson Miller, she was a member of Stanfield General Baptist Church, Gideon, and former member of the Order of Eastern Star, Parma, Mo.
On June 19, 1937, she married Chester S. McConnell, who preceded her in death May 9, 1984. She was also preceded in death by one son, Denny McConnell; one sister, Neva Thompson; and three brothers, Adolph Miller, Harold Miller and D.O. Miller.
Surviving are two sons, Otis McConnell, Southaven, Miss. and Chester McConnell, Jr., of Gideon; two daughters, Beverly Lawrence of Ripley, Tenn., and Shirley Arnold and husband, Scott, of Charlotte, N. Car.; three brothers, Oscar Miller and Ed Miller of Malden, and Julian Miller of Risco; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. today, Sunday, May 30, at Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Malden, Mo., with the Revs. Andy Evans and Travis Lambert officiating.
Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden.
