Alice Whitehead, 92, of Campbell, Mo., died Sunday, May 16, 2004, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell.
Born Jan. 7, 1912, in Pocahontas, Ark., daughter of the late John Robert and Johnie Walter Carter, she was a librarian for the Dunklin County Library in Campbell, a member of the South Canaan General Baptist Church and the Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Robin Sparks, of St. Charles, Mo., Randy Horton, of Germany and Richard Horton, of Wentzville, Mo.; three great-grandchildren, Rachel Lenk, and Rebecca and Ryan Horton and two great-great-grandsons, Alex and Brady Lenk.
She was preceded in death by one son, William Donald Whitehead; one daughter, Alice Faye Horton; a grandson, Robert Jeffery Horton; three brothers, Charley E., Robert P. and William Lloyd Carter; one sister Maudie Bracken and one infant sister.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, May 20, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 20, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Josh Carpenter officiating.
Burial will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery.
