Born May 5, 1919, in Conway, Ark., son of the late Howard Benton and Gertrude Tullos McPherson, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during WWII and a member of the V.F.W.
Survivors include three daughters, Peggy Evans, of Risco, Mo., Sandy Fuemmeler, of Lebanon, Mo. and Charlotte Winchester, of Caruthersville, Mo.; four brothers, Howard McPherson, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Walter McPherson, of Village, Fla., Eugene McPherson, of Moberly, Mo. and Joe Stewart; three sisters, Virginia Hatch, of Michigan, Juanita Yarbro, of Poplar Bluff and Margie Mitchell, of Eldon, Mo.; companion, Gertrude Dillenger, of Risco; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and James McPherson and two sisters, Mayrene Morgan and Corean Leathers.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
There will be a private burial at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo.
Landess Funeral Home of Malden, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
