Butch Folkes, 55, of Kennett, died Monday, May 3, 2004, at his residence.

Born Jan. 15, 1949, in Kennett, son of Chester L. and Carrell Green Folkes, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Vietnam.

Survivors include one daughter, Monica Smith and husband, Stacy, of Little Rock, Ark.; his parents, Chester and Carrell Folkes, of Kennett; two brothers, Perry Folkes and wife, Ann, of Bartlett, Tenn. and Eric Folkes and wife, Sheri, of Howe, Texas and two grandsons, Julian and Elliot Smith.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today, Thursday, May 6, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with James Powell officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were Otis Wake, Gary Stone, Bill Biggs, Bill Grogan, Stacy Smith and Matt Folkes.
