Born Nov. 11, 1926, in Holcomb, Mo., son of the late William Elmore and Belle Dickerson Day, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII. He worked for McDonald-Douglas and was of the Assembly of God faith.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Harrison, of Blytheville and Dale Day and wife, Brenda, of Sikeston, Mo.; two daughters, Elaine Flowers and husband, of St. Louis, Mo. and Janet McNew and husband, Terry, of Sikeston; one brother, Junior Day, of Sikeston; two sisters, Flora Harvell, of Grandin, Mo. and Juanita Davidson, of Jonesboro; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today, Tuesday, May 4 at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Malden, Mo. with the Rev. Richard Blagg officiating.
Burial with military rites was held at the Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton.
