Jessie Lee Jones, 59, of Steele, Mo., died Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti, Mo.
Born Sunday, Nov. 26, 1944. at Gould, Ark., a son of the late Tollie Sr. and Beatrice Williams Jones, he was a farm laborer.
Survivors include one daughter, Krista Mitchell of Kennett; two sons, Jessie Jones, Jr. of Chicago and Jessie "Gator" Brock of Steele; two step-sons, Elonzo Robinson and Percy Brock of Steele; three sisters, Connie Sutton and husband, Leroy, of Blytheville, Ark., Earlene Nelson of Jonesboro, Ark., and Carol Nelson of Steele; eight brothers, Tommie Isom and wife, Catherine, and Tollie Jones, Jr., all of St. Louis, Robert Nelson and wife, Wilma, of Denver, Colo., Richard Nelson and wife, Sherry, of Steele, Noble Nelson and wife, Pat, of Deering, J.W. Nelson and Carlos Nelson and wife, Sharon, all of Jonesboro, and L.W. Nelson and wife, Tara, of Baltimore, Md.; special friend, Lena Hamilton of Steele; and two grandchildren, Kristopher and Shakrya Mitchell of Kennett.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Lee Nelson and Darren Edward Nelson and one sister, Elnora Hudson Puddin.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, April 24, at Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Pastors Henry Mays and Rickey Nelson officiating.
Burial was in Morning Star Cemetery in Steele.
