James Walter Hopkins, 78, of Spokane, Wash., formerly of Kennett, died Monday, April 19, 2004.

Born March 6, 1926, he was the son of the late Marshall and Linnie Hopkins.

Survivors include his wife, Creda; two sons, James Mark and wife, Pat and Stephen Blane and wife, Leigh; one sister, Vera Mae McBride and one grandson, Joshua Stephen.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Melvin, Marvin, Raymond and Gilbert and one sister, Eva Ruth Perry.
