James Tates

James Tates, 62, of Kennett, died Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born Thursday, Jan. 29, 1942, in Steele, Mo., a son of the late John and Quilly Mae Alexander Harris Tates, he was a farmer.

Surviving are a daughter, Mabel Mercer of East St. Louis, Ill.; three sisters, Rosie Leella Bell and Mattie Louis Jackson, both of Kennett, Bertha Allen of Detroit, Mich. and one brother, Joseph Henry Harris, of Lubbock, Texas; five grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.

Visition is at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, at Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett.

Funeral services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bradshaw Chapel with the Rev. Charles Jackson officiating.

Burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.
