Reese Thompson, 71, of Holland, Mo., died Thursday, April 8, 2004 at his residence.
Born on April 3, 1933 in Halltown, Ala., a son of the late Bernie McDaniel and Lueller Fowler Thompson, he was a retired farmer and a member of the Holland Baptist Church.
On Dec. 8, 1953 in Corinth, Miss., he married Susie A. Thompson, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include three daughters, Cathy Diane Thompson Ganus of Prim, Ark., Pat Ann Thompson Schremmer and husband, Vernon, and Linda Marie Thompson, all of Holland; five grandchildren, Wanda Annette Stubbs of Prim, Ark., Jennifer Diane Cantrell of Strattford, Okla., Rachel Ann McArthur of Steele, Mo., Stephen Harold Ganus of Prim and Anthony Ray Ireland II., of Steele; and nine great-grandchildren, Billy "Caleb" Stubbs of Prim, Whitney Diane and Brooklyn Dawn Cantrell, both of Strattford, Okla., Samantha Karen and Michael Lee Cothran, both of Steele, Julia Darlene Ganus and Nathaniel Harold Ganus, both of Prim and Joseph Wayne and Jacob Anthony Ireland, both of Steele.
He was preceded in death by five siblings, Roy Thompson, Lillian Thompson Biggs, Lloyd Thompson, Lawton Thompson and Elwood Thompson, one grandson, Jason Loereese Thompson and one son-in-law, Harold Ganus.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., today, Friday, April 9, at the Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home in Steele.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, April 10, at the Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home with Revs. John Earl Dunavant and Gerald Moss officiating.
Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.
