James Watson McCoy, 94, of Dexter, Mo., died Monday, April 5, 2004 at the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.
Born on July 15, 1909 in Dundee, Miss., a son of the late Lue Allen and Mattie Foster McCoy, he was a member of the Malden Masonic Lodge and Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.
On August 26, 1974 he married Pearlie King, who survives of the home.
Survivors include 10 sons, Robert McCoy and wife, Beth of Piqua, Ohio, William McCoy and wife, Cindy, of Jackson, N.C., Keith McCoy and wife, Jennifer, of Pontiac, Mich., Wesley McCoy and wife, Jackie, of Troy, Ohio, Tommy McCoy, and wife, Lynn, of Fort Worth, Texas, Charles McCoy and Watson McCoy, both of Troy, Ohio, James McCoy Jr., of Mich., Samuel McCoy of Peekskill, N.Y., and R.J. "Tony" Jones of Cameron, Mo.; seven daughters, Gloria Edwards and husband, Paul of Daytona, Ohio., Kelly McCoy of Troy, Ohio, Velma Pearson, of Jackson, Mich., Debra McCoy of Troy, Ohio, Linda Porter and husband, Clarence of Virginia Beach, Va., Brenda Harris and husband, Joe, and Margaret Clark and husband, Glenn, all of Malden; one sister, Geneva Sanford of New Madrid, Mo.; and one brother, William McCoy of Detroit, Mich.
He was preceded in death by three sons, Willie, Johnny and James McCoy; one sister, Velma Riley and brother, L.M. McCoy.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., on Friday, April 6, 2004 at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 10 at the Macedonia Church.
Burial will be in the Macedonia Cemetery in Malden.
