Ernest Brister

Ernest Brister, 96, of Hayti, Mo., died March 28, 2004, at Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti.

Born July 15, 1907, in Bolton, Miss., a son of the late George and Mary Buchaman Brister, he was a farmer and member of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Hayti.

He was preceded in death April 14, 1993, by his wife, Guthrie; four brothers, six sisters and two grandchildren, Charles and Joseph Lee.

Surviving are a daughter, Sarah Bulter of Bolton, nine grandchildren, Minnie Warren of Madison, Miss., Arthur Lee, Atlanta, Ga., Grace Hatfield, Thomas Lee and Kathrine Walker of Jackson, Miss., Mary Henry, Flora, Miss., and Phillip Lee of Bolton; 22 great-grandchildren; 33 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great grandchild.

Funeral services were 1 p.m. Saturday, April 3, at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Hayti with Supt. Courtney Sanders officiating.

Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Hayti.

Pallbearers were Joe Nathean Thomas, Napoleon Green, Jessie Hall, Gerald B. Thomas, John Henry Banks and Robert Noel, Sr.

Arrangements by John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti.
