Thomas Spear, 71, of Knobel, Ark., died Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at the V.A. Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Born Jan. 25, 1933, in Pitt County, N.C., son of the late Johnny and Mary Parker Spear, he was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a life member of VFW Post 2242, life member of Law Enforcement in America and life member of the NRA.
On June 30, 1978, in Hanford, Calif., he married Gracie Verneal Goldsmith, who survives.
Survivors also include four step-sons, Don Lowe and wife, Debbie, of Dyersburg, Tenn. and Bill Lowe and wife, Debra, Terry lowe and wife, Phyllis and Jim Lowe, all of Kennett; two step-daughters, Alice Adams and husband, Fred, of Sparks, Nev. and Donna Williams and husband, J.T., of Bakersfield, Calif.; two brothers, James and Johnny Spear, both of Aiken, S.C.; 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, April 1, at the Ermert Funeral Home in Corning, Ark.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 2, at the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Gene Carpenter officiating.
Burial will follow at the Hosea Cemetery in Knobel.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Knobel.
