Virgil A. Douglas, 78, of Gideon, Mo., died Sunday, March 28, 2004, at the Gideon Care Center.
Born Sept. 6, 1925, in Lynn, Ark., son of the late Virgil A. and Ollie Mae White Douglas, she was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Malden, Mo..
On June 28, 1947, in Blytheville, Ark., he married Violet Elizabeth Cline, who survives.
Survivors also include three daughters, Bonnie Loughary and Sue Meese and husband, Rick, all of Gideon and Debbie Youngblood, of Clarkton, Mo.; two sons, Mark Douglas and wife, Sherrie and Steve Douglas and wife, Tina, all of Paragould, Ark.; one brother, Dover Lee Douglas, of Ravenden, Ark.; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Phyllis England; one infant son and one brother, Larry Douglas.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Tuesday, March 30, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Gideon.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Elijah Allen and George Howell officiating.
Burial will follow at the Rosewood Cemetery in Malden.
