Henry Acom, 89, of Wardell, Mo., died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti, Mo.
Born Monday, Feb. 22, 1915, in Macon County, Ill., a son of the late William H. and Bertha Dickson Acom, he was self employed.
On April 9, 1936, he married Nina Elizabeth Stone who survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Helen Walker of Wardell and Anne Rogers of Newbern, Tenn.; two sisters, Mildred Johnson and Helen Wiggins both of Oreeana, Ill.; a brother-in-law, Arthur Edgecomb of Decatur, Ill and sister-in-law, Naomi Acom of Kalamazoo, Mich.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John Acom, one sister, Fern Edgecomb and a great-grandchild, John Edwin Thornberry.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. today, Sunday, March 28, at the Baptist Church in Wardell with the Rev. Griff Walker officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett, under direction of Bradshaw Funeral Home of Kennett.
