Ira L. "Slick" Harris, 57, of Braggadocio, Mo., died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at the Veterans Hospital in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Born Nov. 23, 1946, son of the late Haywood and Cora Harris, he was a U.S. Army veteran and was retired from the University of Missouri Delta Center Division, in Portageville, Mo.
He married Brenda Robinson, who survives.
Survivors also include one daughter, Latitia, of Hayti, Mo.; one son, Bradley, of Hayti; one step-son, Kenyon, of Aurora, Ill.; his step-mother, Vivereen; two sisters, Jessie "Mickey" Harris and Army Houston, both of Elkhart, Ind.; five brothers, Willie O. Harris, of Memphis, Tenn., Haywood "Dynamite" Harris, of Poplar Bluff, Howard "Peewee" Harris, of Chicago, Oll, James T. Harris, of Detroit, Mich. and Carl G. Harris, of Akon, Ohio; and three grandsons.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 14, at the Hayti High School with the Rev. Darin Thomas officiating.
Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Hayti.
John W. German Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
