Opal Irene Robertson, 91, Kennett, formerly of Hayti, Mo., died Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at National Healthcare in Kennett.
Born Jan. 18, 1913, in Deering, Mo., daughter of the late John Jonah and Zillie Wilson Garret, she was retired from Brown Shoe Company and a member of the Hayti First Baptist Chiurch.
In 1926, at Piggott, Ark., she married Ben Robertson, who preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 1972. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Tom and Jerry Robertson; one brother, Virgil O. "Peck" Garrett and one sister, Mary Dobbins.
Survivors include two sons, Bill Robertson and wife, Norma and Pete Robertson and wife, Carolyn, all of Caruthersville, Mo.; one brother, Willard "Dump" Garrett and wife, Heraldine, of Kennett; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 20, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Revs. Jim Mousie and Dr. James Adams officiating.
Burial was in the Maple Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Frank, Neil, Keith and Blaine Robertson and David and Wes McCarver.
Honorary pallbearers were Richard Ashbaugh, Herbert DeWeese, Ed Adams, Bill Hardin, Lavanda White and Vernon Dobbins.
