Elsie Maude Arthur, 88, of Willisville, Ark., formerly of Wardell, Mo., died Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at Quachita County Medical Center.
Born April 16, 1915, in Bradley, Miss., daughter of the late William Henry and Anne Maude Morgan Cummins, she was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
She married Charles Theodore Arthur, who preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 1974. She was also preceded in death by three daughters, Joyce Ann and Geneva Arthur and Violet Howell; one foster son, Russell Curtis; two sisters, Edna Lawrence and Evelyn Sims; five brothers, Andrew, Audley, Isom, Elmer and Woodrow Cummins and four grandchildren, Lesley and Dallas Parson and Charles William and Larry Jor Arthur.
Survivors include one daughter, Diane Huffmaster and husband, Fred, of Willisville; two sons, Charles W. Arthur, of Essex, Mo. and Charles Arthur and wife, Loatha Arthur, of Morehouse, Mo.; one sister, Elva Green, of LaCenter, Ky.; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, March 18, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Wardell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 19, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Melton officiating.
Burial will follow at the Pemiscot Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Caruthersville, Mo.
