Emma Notgrass

Emma Viola Notgrass, 82, of Hayti, Mo., died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at Pemiscot Memorial Nursing Home in Hayti.

Born March 23, 1921, in Cuba, Mo., daughter of the late Ernest Guy and Rhuea Phillips Hankins, she was a beautician, a member of the Moonlight Garden Club. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Caruthersville, Mo.

On May 21, 1939, in Kennett, she married James Eddie Notgrass who preceded her in death March 1, 1992. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sue Ann White on March 22, 1988 and a sister, Dorothy Jean Freeman on April 11, 1998.

Survivors include one sister, Floretta Kreiner of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a son-in-law and grandson, L.C. White and Levin Cord White of Cordova, Tenn., a sister-in-law, Dorothy Notgrass of Braggadocio, Mo.

Funeral services were Friday, March 12, in the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Sue Cubbage officiating.

Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Hayti.

Pallbearers were Richard Ashbaugh, Terry Brantley, Joe White, Levin White, Martin Ray and Bobby Irions.
