Ruby Kirby, 94, of Kennett, died Thursday, March 4, 2004, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born Dec. 16, 1909, in Pontotoc County, Miss., she was the daughter of the late William Miller Brown and Mary Alma Teeter.
On Sept. 4, 1937, she married O.A. Kirby, who preceded her in death on May 25, 1971. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Jonell Kirby and two brothers, James Earnest and Clyde Allen Brown.
Survivors include one son, Bill Kirby and wife, Mary, of Kennett; four daughters, Anne Williams and husband, Doyle, of Kennett, Mary Ellen Akers and husband, Gene and Mona Gregory, all of Barnhart, Mo. and Margaret Langston and husband, Paul, of South Haven, Mich.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 8, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Mike and Patrick Akers, Tim and Chris Smith and Brian and Matt Kirby.
