Bernice C. Wilkinson, 95, of Hot Springs, Ark., died Thursday, March 4, 2004, at St. Joseph's Regional Health Center.
Born March 24, 1908, in Dermott, Texas, daughter of the late Lorenzo William and Cora Wilson Carter, she was a homemaker, employed at Peck Hayden's Ten Cent Store and a buyer for W.F. Woolworth Company. She was a member of the Tower Grove Baptist Church in St. Louis, Mo.
On Oct. 10, 1927, in Caruthersville, Mo., she married William "Bill" Acuff, who preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 1976. She later married Everett Wilkinson in St. Louis, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Julia.
Survivors include one son, Joe Acuff, of Hot Springs Village, Ark. and two grandsons, Stewart Acuff, of Silver Springs, Md. and Stephen Acuff, of Little Rock, Ark.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 6, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Acuff officiating.
Burial was in the Maple Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Stewart and Stephen Acuff, Earl Bullington and Lonnie Cagle.
