Ines Marie Owens Mincey, 89, of Malden, Mo., died Thursday, March 4, 2004, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Mo.
Born Oct. 24, 1914, in Advance, Mo. daughter of the late Riley and Maggie Moore Thacker, she was a homemaker and a member of the First General Baptist Church in Malden. She volunteered at the Malden Nutirtion Center and was a Sunday school teacher.
On Sept. 9, 1933, in Campbell, Mo., she married W.H. "Big Boy" Owens, who preceded her in death on Sept. 20, 1981. She later married Cecil Mincey, on July 3, 1988. He preceded her in death on August of 1997. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Franklin, Leroy and James "Jimmy" Thacker; one sister, Lorene Hill and one grandson, Stanley Owens.
Survivors include five sons, Ed Owens and wife, Mary and Roy Owens and wife, Linda, all of Malden, Jim Owens, of East Prairie, Ron Owens and wife, Darlia, of Parma, Mo. and Bob Owens and wife, Kathy, of Dexter; one step-son, Bob Mincey and wife, Marilyn, of St. Peters, Mo.; two step-daughters, Laura Luke and husband, Herman, of Malden and Othelia Pierce, of O'Fallon, Mo.; one sister, Geneva Kincade, of Union City, Tenn.; 29 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Friday, March 5, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 6, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dale Shoup officiating.
Burial will follow at the Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Clarkton, Mo.
