George "Eddie" Sheppard, 76, of Kennett, died Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, at John J. Pershing VA Hospital in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Born June 9, 1927, in Hornersville, Mo., son of the late George William and Allie Mae Hanners Sheppard, he was a U.S. Army veteran and a laborer.
On Nov. 16, 1964, in St. Louis, Mo., he married Maxine Shearer, who preceded him in death on March 22, 1988. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Wendell, his twin William Fredrick and Howard Shepard.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis Hardin and wife, Nancy, of Kennett and Bruce Shepard and wife, Theresa, of St. Louis; five daughters, Karen Cook and husband, Joe, of Grand Blanc, Mich., Cheryl Shelton and husband, Robert, of Clio, Mich. and Karla Puckett and husband, Ken, of St. Louis, Brenda Ellis and husband, Frank and Edria Seats and husband, Gary, all of Kennett; one sister, Doris Abernathy, of Sikeston, Mo.; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 29, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.
