Lee Orain Tilley, 84, of Hornersville, Mo., died Friday, Feb. 27, at his residence.
Born March 3, 1919, in Ojibway, Mo., son of the late Claude and Ora Mae Tune Tilley, he was a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of the Hornersville Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge No. 215 AF & AM and the Hornersville American Lodge No. 362. He was a past member of the South District Scottish Rites Club and the Hornersville Housing Authority.
On July 22, 1940, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., he married Verna Maria Bowen, who preceded him in death on March 1, 1993. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Floyd Tilley and one sister, Ethel Highfill.
Survivors include two sons, Marcus Tilley, of Arnold, Mo. and L. "Skip" Tilley, of Hornersville; two daughters, Claudia Moffitt, of Hornersville and Fran Hawkins, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; one brother, Cleo Tilley, of Arnold; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 1, at the Trinity Community Church in Cardwell, Mo. with Brother Kevin Knox officiating.
Burial was in the Horner Cemetery at Hornersville.
Bradshaw-Emerson Funeral Home of Hornersville was in charge of arrangements.
