Lawrence Emory Wright, 75, of Malden, Mo., died Monday, March 1, 2004, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born July 13, 1928, in White Oak, Mo., son of the late Charley and Flora Williams Wright, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII, an electrician and of the Baptist faith.
In March, 1946, in Piggott, Ark., he married Wilma Pauline Goins, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by one grandson, Jerry Lee Cornett.
Survivors include two daughters, Michell Cornett and husband, Jerry, of Malden and Sharon Kelly, of Broseley, Mo.; six grandchildren, Jim Cornett, of Barstow, Calif., Jackie Lynn Cornett, of Gideon, Mo., Rob Cornett, of Campbell, Mo., Kevin Kinney, of Greenville, Mo., Sandra Foust, of Broseley and Mary Merritt, of Paragould, Ark.; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, at the Landess Chapel with the Rev. Richard Blagg officiating.
Burial with military rites will follow at the Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton, Mo.
