Susie Lou Booker Davis, 85, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born Dec. 29, 1918, in Birmingham, Ala., daughter of the late Rosetta Owens Sprinkle and Eugene Booker, she was a member of the Pentecostal Power Church in Caruthersville.
In Louise, Miss., she married George Cal Smith, who preceded her in death. She later married Merritt "Preacher" Davis , who also preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Georgia Mae and Mattie L. Smith; two sons, Silas Smith, Sr. and wife, Barbara and William "Hooker" Davis, of Caruthersville; six sisters, Pearl Harris and Lillian Limpcomb, both of Indianapolis, Ind., Estelle Summers and Louise Booker, both of Jackson, Miss.; Rosie Ball Lovell, of Nashville, Tenn. and Ruby Purrey, of Chicago, Ill; one brother, Willie Sprinkle, of Gulf Port, Miss.; 36 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Satruday, Feb. 21, at the Pentecostal Power New Life Deliverance Temple in Caruthersville with Bishop James Lane officiating.
Burial was in the Morgan Ridge Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Tray, Freddie and Roy Rodgers and Silas, Casey and Perry Smith.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
