Jack Short, 63, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., formerly of Kennett died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at John J. Pershing Veterans Hospital in Poplar Bluff.
Born Feb. 22, 1940, in Winston County, Ala., he was a son of the late William Nelson and Georgia Irene Morgin Short.
Surviving are one son, Jack Short and wife, Kim, of Kennett; four brothers, Carl E. Short of Marble Hill, Mo., L.V. Short of Murphysboro, Ky., Emmitt Short of St. Louis and Robert Short of Blytheville, Ark.; six sisters, Peggy Dickinson of Weaverville, N.C., Barbara Holt of South Fulton, Tenn., Linda Fay Kniker and Katie Robertson of Paragould, Ark., Maxine Harrison of Almond Beach, Fla. and Mary Lee Hinote of Baymonet, Ala.; one grandchild, William Garret Short.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Arthur Short and two sisters, Lucille Bone and Cora Lee Young.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Kennett.
Burial was in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.
Pallbearers were Richard Luye, Jimmie Strother and Wendell Hoskins.
