Charles E. Waddell, 76, of St. Charles, Mo., died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at Barnes Jewish St. Peters Hospital in St. Peters, Mo.
Born April 4, 1927, at Holcomb, Mo., a son of Earl W. and Florence V. Waddell, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He owned the Chesterfield Taxi Cab. Co. He was a member of American Legion Post 1000, VFW Post 2866, and The Chosin Few.
Surviving are his wife, Gracie M. Waddell of St. Charles; three daughters, Barbara Boillot and husband, Joseph, of Columbia, Mo., Janet Hood of St. Peters, Mo., and Gloria Miller and husband, David, of St. Peters; two sons, Edward W. Waddell of Columbia, Robert W. Waddell and wife, Donna, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three sisters, Margie Lawson of Forest Grove, Ore., Mary Templin and husband, Bob, of Post Falls, Idaho, and Sue Skerrett and husband, Bob, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; one granddaughter, MIndy Miller and one grandson, Charles David Miller.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Rex Waddell, Max Waddell and Jim Waddell and one sister, Bobbie Nash.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. today, Sunday, Feb. 22, at the Baue Funeral and Memorial Center at St. Charles.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, at First Baptist Church of Harvester in Harvester, Mo.
Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at St. Louis.
