Jack Waller, 81, of Malden, Mo., died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, at his residence.
Born Nov. 18, 1922, in Corning, Ark., son of the late Irvin and Thelma Finney Waller, he was a U.S. Air Corps veteran, having served in WWII, Commander of Company L Bernie National Guard, Commander of the Malden American Legion Post No. 293 and a member of the United Methodist Church in Malden. He served on the board of the Missouri Conservation Commission, Board of Public Works in Malden, Malden Industrial Airport Board and the Malden City Council. He was owner/operator of the Ridgeview Nursing Center in Malden, now known as the Beverly Healthcare & Rehab, owned Waller Real Estate in Malden and was in the banking industry.
On Oct. 25, 1940, in Piggott, Ark., he married Dottie Queen, who survives.
Survivors also include one daughter, Jackie Dierks and husband, Charles, of Malden; one son, Gordon Waller and wife, Debbie, of Dexter, Mo.; one sister, Ann Lebourgeois, of New Orleans, La.; six grandchildren, Traci Wilson and Stephanie Mungle, both of Malden, John Waller, of San Diego, Calif., Jessica Waller, of Atlanta, Ga. Jayson Snider, of McGee, Ark. and Rhonda Mitchell, of Sikeston, Mo. and seven great-grandchildren, Jackson and Sarah Wilson, Seth and Sydney Mungle, Jayson and Jackson Snider and Abbey Shelton.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Stan Wood and Dwight Chapman officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden.
Memorials may be made to the Bootheel Youth Museum or the Malden Historical Museum.
