Claude R. Davis, Jr., 85, of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at Beverly Healthcare & Rehab in Malden.
Born Oct. 15, 1917, in Parma, Mo., son of the late Claude R. and Winifred Jones Davis, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during WWII, a former vice president of the Risco School Alumni Association and was employed by Malden Wholesale Foods. He was affiliated with the First Southern Baptist Church in Malden.
On March 23, 1943, in Malden, he married Elizabeth Jane McCarver, who survives.
Survivors also include one daughter, Bette Dean Davis Moen and husband, Ronald D., of Clarkston, Mich.; one sister, Hartence Davis Mault, of Stow, Ohio and two grandchildren, Evan R. Moen, of Clarkston and Tracy Elizabeth Moen, of Bluffton, S.C.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Virgil R., Wilburn, Leroy, Ed and Sparrel W. Davis.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ernie Nelson officiating.
Burial will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo.
