Roger Dale Newsom, 51, of Holcomb, Mo., died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at John J. Pershing VA Hospital in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Born April 30, 1952, in Gideon, Mo., son of the late Lester O. and Evelyn Shaw Newsom, he was in the Army National Guard, worked for Malden Implement Co. and was a member of the New Hope General Baptist Church in Holcomb.
On June 30, 1985, in Clarkton, Mo., he married Deborah Williams, who survives.
Survivors also include two daughters, Michelle McTique and Chasity Boyer, both of Jackson, Mich.; three step-sons, Chris Black, of White Oak, Mo., Jeff Black, of Portageville, Mo. and Brad Ishmael, of Jackson; two brothers, Jimmy Newsom, of Peach Orchard, Mo. and Johnny Newsom, of Forrest, Texas; two sisters, Maxine Kendrick, of Holcomb and Shirley Scoggins, of Kennett; one half-sister, Marie Griffin, of Paragould, Ark. and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Lester "Sonny" Newsom, Jr. and one sister, Virginia Fraun Felker.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 11, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Carl Kendrick and Richard Blagg officiating.
Burial will follow at the Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton, Mo.
