Ara Fances Baker, 91, of Hayti, Mo., died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti.
Born Aug. 10, 1912, in Hunnington, Tenn., daughter of the late Alfred and Leona Carey Parish, she was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Hayti.
On Oct. 24, 1934, in Caruthersville, Mo., she married Ben Hooper Baker, Sr., who preceded her in death on Nov. 19, 1965. She was also preceded in death by one grandson and 11 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include one son, Ben Hooper Baker, Jr. and wife, Renee, of Caruthersville and two granddaughters, Anna and Loren Baker.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with Dr. Mike Melton officiating.
Burial was in the Pemiscot Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers were James Ralph Murphy, Jim Young, Tim Gordon, Alan Carlton. Jimmy Parish, Sr. and Jimmy Parish, Jr.
