Jessie Chance, 83, of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, at his residence.
Born Dec. 23, 1920, in Enola, Ark., son of the late Joseph and Nellie Bell Chance, he was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in WWII and receiving two Bronze Stars. He worked for Federal Mogul in Malden and attended the Church of God in Parma, Mo.
On March 25, 1947, in Piggott, Ark., he married Dean Duba, who survives.
Survivors also include three daughters, Georgia Silva and husband, George, of Lake Don Pordo, Calif., Tawyna Erwin, of Van Buren, Mo. and Oneskia Richards and husband, Ron, of Campbell, Mo.; one brother, Roy Chance, of Oregon; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Wesley, Jack, Henry and Bo Chance and two sisters, Letha Chance and Dean Blocker.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Feb. 5 at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at the Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton, Mo.
