Edith Marie Gentry, 84, of Senath, Mo., died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at the Dublinair Health Care Center in Dublin, Ga.
Born May 8, 1919, in Lepanto, Ark., she was the daughter of the late James Henry and Ester Malone Culbertson Griffin.
On Nov. 5, 1933, she married Marshall Gentry, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one son, James Gentry, Jr.; one daughter, Brenda Moore; two brothers, Edward and Albert Griffin; two sisters, Thelma Trentham and Alma Butler and one granddaughter, Amber West.
Survivors include three sons, Gerald Gentry and wife, Marie, of Senath, Harold Gentry and wife, JoAnn, of Jackson, Mo. and Melvin Gentry, of East Chicago, Ind.; three daughters, Lois West and husband, Frank, of Hoopeston, Ill., Emily Bailey, of Paragould, Ark. and Fay Westerfield and husband, David, of Dublin; one brother, Earl Griffin, of Gosnell, Ark.; one sister, Mabel Burris, of Gosnell; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, Feb. 3, at the First United Methodist Church in Senath with the Revs. Bob McNabb and Andrew Lovins officiating.
Burial was in the Lulu Cemetery.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Danny Terry and Phillip West, Lee, Dean and Tony Gentry, Gerald Gentry, Jr., Gerald Gentry III, Glen Donald Moore and Robert Westerfield.
Honorary pallbearers were Joshua Gentry, Jarrod Wampler, Matthew Smith and Shane and T.J. West.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath was in charge of arrangements.
