J.C. Williams, 81, of Steele, Mo., died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Born Aug. 7, 1922, in Jackson, Tenn., son of the late Archie Atlas and Ollie Frances Jordan Williams, he was a veteran of the Army Air Corp, serving in WWII. He was a welder and of the Baptist faith.
He married Earline Mathenia, who preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Wayne Williams, of Steele and Gregory Alan Williams and wife, Michelle, of Hoquaim, Wash.; two daughters, Lisa Darlene Graham and husband, David, of New Madrid, Mo. and Sandra Middleton and husband, Michael, of Wichita, Kan.; one sister, Ruby Storm, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Janice Newsom, of Marston, Mo.; seven grandchildren, David Adam and Zachary Avery Graham and Terry Williams II, all of New Madrid, Megan Cyrena and Amanda Joy Williams, both of Hoquiam, Colby Lynn Newsom, of Marston and Trevor Williams, of Cape Girardeau and two great-grandchildren, Clara Grace Porter, of New Madrid and Terry Jeffery Lynn "T.J." Williams, of Cape Girardeau.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at the Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home in Steele.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, at the First Baptist Church in Steele with the Rev. Jim Mousie officiating.
Burial will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.
